The 30-minute SWR documentary “Seilbahnchecker”<\/em> focuses on rope inspections \u2013 carried out using the high-tech system from ROPESYS. The camera follows our experts as they inspect two cable cars: the historic Predigtstuhlbahn in Bad Reichenhall and the 3S-Bahn in Koblenz. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rope safety since 1928 \u2013 technically rethought<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Predigtstuhl cable car is a true piece of technical history\u2014but it still has to be safe. This is where ROPESYS comes in: Our testing systems enable detailed cable inspections, including state-of-the-art magnetic induction measurement technology. <\/span><\/p>\n

Comprehensive rope inspection with ROPESYS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For many years, the historic railway has been inspected by independent experts \u2013 including our partner company ROTEC. This involves more than just the suspension cable: the control system, mechanics, statics, and fire protection are also inspected. Because only a technically sound condition ensures the operating license. <\/span><\/p>\n

Magnetic inductive rope testing in action<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Visual inspection isn’t enough. Therefore, we also conduct a magnetic inspection of the rope’s interior using our ROPESYS device. This creates a precise magnetic field around the rope, revealing any weak spots. Deviations from the target condition can be measured live as a stray field \u2013 contactless, in 3D, and wirelessly. <\/span><\/p>\n

Real-time data analysis via the ROPESYS Cloud<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The initial evaluation takes place directly on-site: A laptop receives live data during the journey. An AI-supported analysis then performs the complete evaluation \u2013 securely and efficiently via the ROPESYS Cloud. This allows weak points to be identified early and downtime to be avoided. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cable car safety thought globally<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Whether in Germany or worldwide \u2013 ROPESYS ensures safe cable car operations with state-of-the-art systems. Our solutions are also in use in Bolivia: In the city of La Paz, with a population of one million, they support the maintenance of one of the world’s largest urban cable car networks. <\/span><\/p>\n
