Wire Rope Seminar Essen 2025 – Knowledge that counts.
On September 23 and 24, 2025 The Haus der Technik in Essen invites you to a seminar on “Wire Ropes.” ROTEC Managing Director Sven Winter, Dipl.-Ing., along with “crane rope engineer” Dr.-Ing. Frank Jauch and “rope expert” Roland Verreet, Dipl.-Ing., will impart concentrated practical knowledge.
The aim is to make the design, operation and inspection of wire ropes safer, more efficient and more economical.
Who is the seminar intended for?
The seminar is aimed at designers, operators, inspectors, maintenance engineers and safety professionals.
Anyone who plans rope drives, selects, installs, tests, or maintains wire ropes will find valuable tips here – clearly explained and directly applicable.
Content with direct practical relevance
At the beginning, participants will learn all about the history of wire rope and the ABCs of ropes. The course then focuses on manufacturing, construction, and modern rope designs. Standard and specialty ropes will be presented, and their applications will be explained.
Participants also learn how to properly install, safely handle, effectively maintain, and reliably inspect wire ropes. This allows for early detection of damage and avoidance of downtime.
Standards, interpretation and best practices
Another focus is on the standards DIN 15020 and ISO 4308. You’ll learn how to select the appropriate rope construction and correctly design the rope drive. Practical tips on extending service life, rope end connections, and assembly round out the technical section.
Numerous examples and demonstrations make the content clear.
Exchange and networking
The seminar also offers opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues. During discussions and breaks, individual questions can be clarified and new contacts can be made.
