Our combined magnetic cable inspection in Duisburg is currently in operation on the A42 Rhine Bridge in Baerl. Together with the bridge experts from R.Lange GmbH in Moers, we are inspecting the load-bearing tensioning cables. Our system uses magnetic fields to detect internal wire breaks at an early stage. This is complemented by high-resolution cameras that visually scan the cable surface.

Technology for load-bearing structures

The Duisburg Baerl Rhine Bridge is one of the region’s key infrastructure structures. Thousands of vehicles cross this bridge every day. Regular cable inspections are essential to ensure long-term safety.

The ongoing testing is carried out without a complete closure – a benefit for both operators and road users. Thanks to our precise measuring systems, a quick and accurate evaluation is possible.

Non-contact diagnostics

Our automated visual and magnetic rope inspection enables reliable detection of corrosion, wire breaks, and material fatigue. The collected data is used to estimate the service life of the ropes and help plan repair measures.

Why regular checks are important

Ropes are exposed to wind, weather, temperature fluctuations, and traffic over the years. Even the smallest damage can grow unnoticed. With our magnetic measuring systems, we detect changes inside and on the surface of the rope early on.

The magnetic rope testing in Duisburg provides precise information on cross-sectional losses and wire breaks – a valuable contribution to operational safety.

ROPESYS – Rope testing equipment for global requirements

Our non-destructive rope testing systems are used worldwide – on bridges, cable cars, and industrial facilities. We stand for precision, efficiency, and safety – developed and manufactured in Germany.

Conclusion

The current rope test on the Baerl Rhine Bridge shows how modern technology contributes to the preservation of structures – efficiently, precisely and reliably.

ROPESYS – Safety at the highest level. Made by engineers in Germany.
