Revision at the Lichtenhainer Mountain Railway – Nordhäuser Building Inspection Institute Using ROPESYS Rope Inspection Device
The historic Lichtenhainer Mountain Railway in Thuringia, a technical masterpiece over 100 years old, blends the charm of its original preserved wagons with state-of-the-art safety technology. To ensure the operational safety of this unique railway, regular revision inspections are conducted. First, the experts conduct a thorough visual inspection of the lift rope. They look for visible changes such as cracks, corrosion, or other irregularities that could compromise operational safety. This inspection is supplemented by a tapping test, which also provides insight into potential damage.
However, the true precision is demonstrated with the use of a state-of-the-art magnetic rope inspection device from ROPESYS.
